Day 1 (May 7th), Drove for hours from Guelph to Hawkesbury, stopped in at Bob & Janet’s in Maberley.
Day 2, 75.6 km cycle ride from Hawkesbury to Montebello and back, with a French ‘Sandwich Poulet’ enroute. Awesome views of Ottawa River, interesting architecture.

Day 3 – Drive from Hawkesbury, ON to Saint-François-de-l’Île-d’Orléans, QC. Took the long route on Highway 344 along North shore of Ottawa River. Nice drive through Carillon and Oka (wow, pot shops galore) until Ste Eustache where there were stop signs every few hundred metres for hours until I finally reached Hwy 40 to Quebec City.

Day 5, on l’Île-d’Orléans, dodged the rain until mid-afternoon and cycled 52.6 km mostly around the periphery. Nice views over farms and orchards down to the water. Traffic light and motorists very courteous to cyclists (at least to this one). Strong wind coming from the South-East which was great going, but not so great coming back.

Day 5, road trip from Saint-François-de-l’Île-d’Orléans to Isle-aux-Coudres.

Day 6, managed a really tough ride in high wind and cold around I’sle-aux-Coudres – a mere 33.1 km, but killed me. Still suffering a bit from a cold, so maybe that’s the problem. Day 7, took it easy, drove car around the island, looking for non-existent whales……

Day 8, up at 5am to start heading home. Unsure how far to go in one day, but ended up at home after over 1,000km and 11 hours on the road.
