Tue, S 10 – Day 29, left Belfast and are now in Balbriggan, on the Irish Sea coast. Hoping to do some coastal hikes and maybe a castle. Now staying in a hotel instead of Airbnb. We have decided to wean ourselves off the likes of Airbnb because they seem to be taking housing away from people that need to own permanent housing, everywhere. We learned that this was a big problem in Porto, Portugal last year, and the locals were angry about their residential areas being ruined by tourist rentals.
Wed, S 11 – Day 30, long walk from Balbriggan to Skerries and part of the way back, probably 15 km. Windy on the Irish Sea, but highly enjoyable change from Guelph…..
Thu, S 12 – Day 31, a nice slow coastal walk from Balbriggan to Gormanston, about 8 km. Saw several seals, lots of birds and rocks and seashells. Almost no wind, no rain.
Fri, S 13 – Day 32, Balbriggan. Visited Ardgillan castle and walked and hung out on the beach. Last night in Ireland…..
Sat, S 14 – Day 33……on the way home….
